Map folder to drive in Windows XP/Vista/7/8

If you want to map a certain folder to a drive letter in Windows XP/Vista/7/8 you can do it using native Windows tools in two ways:

1. Using subst

To create a new mapping:

subst x: C:\Folder\Example

To remove a mapping:

subst x: /D

2. Using net use

net use x: \\localhost\c$\Folder\Example

If you don’t see the folder, share it with Windows Sharing
